aplico essas alterações manualmente sem instalar nenhum ficheiro pelo package manager, certo ?

Instalas o mod pelo package manager, o mod vai ficar instalado na theme default, para aparecer na theme que estás a usar tens que fazer as alterações que estão no link a cima, aos ficheiros da tua theme.

mas ao instalar alerta-me para erros e aconselha a nao instalar.

a theme default é a mystic jade já, penso eu de que. pelo menos defini para que assim fosse :\

Provavlemte nao estás a instalar a versão certa, para a versão do smf que estás a usar, a theme default é o nome da theme que vem por defeito, a tua chama-se mystic jade.

fazes ideia em que ficheiro está esse bocado de código e o que retirar?

Esse mod é compatível com todas as versões do SMF.

cbi v1.0
This update to the mod allows child boards to have there own custom icons aswell as parent boards and is compatible with SMF 1.1 Final. Please read the readme.txt in the mod for more instructions and credits.

cbi v1.0a updated to work with 1.1.5 and replaces the .gif extension with .png

cbi v1.5 Updated to work with SMF 2.0 beta 3 public. You can now use .png files for icons instead of .gif; there is no add on need anymore. cbi 1.5 is ONLY for SMF 2.0.

cbi v 1.5.5 Updated to work with SMF 2.0 RC 1-1. Also a spacing error was fixed. All should display normal now.
