Acho que o teu fórum tem secções e sub-fóruns a mais... Não seria possível alterar aquilo?

A skin (parte gráfica do fórum) está um pouco "batida" vai a http://www.phpbbhacks.com/templatesdemo/ e vê lá se encontras uma que te agrade.

Eu depois ajudo-te a fazeres a instalação ;)
